Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Produce Department Supervisor to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our produce team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department, ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service and quality products.Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and Delegate Tasks: Supervise and delegate tasks to produce team members, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Train and Develop Team Members: Work with the produce trainer to train team members in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
• Assist with Training and Onboarding: Assist in training of new team members, utilizing learning checklists and training materials.
• Maintain a Clean and Organized Department: Keep all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated.
• Ensure Smooth Operations: Open and close the department according to established procedures, ensuring that all necessary breaks are given.
• Communicate Effectively: Communicate team concerns to the team leader and associate team leader.
• Set and Achieve High Standards: Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution, fostering a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
• Provide Excellent Customer Service: Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, directing team members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers, responding promptly to customer needs and questions.
• Develop and Mentor Team Members: Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
• Conduct Performance Evaluations: Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations.Requirements
  • Extensive Knowledge of Produce Team Procedures: Extensive knowledge of produce team procedures and policies.

    • 12+ Months Retail Experience: 12+ months retail experience.Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
      • Lifting and Standing: Must be able to lift 50 pounds. In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
      • Hand Use and Motion: Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling. Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
      • Exposure to Chemicals and Temperature: Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals. Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
      • Ability to Work in a Wet and Cold Environment: Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
      • Ability to Work a Flexible Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
      • Ability to Use Tools and Equipment: Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
